“A machine is good if it starts on the third morning of a harvest, and if the man operating it can service it himself.”

Supreme Agri Implements began in Faisalabad in 1980, in the middle of the Punjab farming belt, for a simple reason: the farms around us needed machinery built for the conditions they actually worked in, and too much of what was available had been designed for somewhere else.

Four decades later that is still the test I apply to everything we build. A machine is not good because of what it looks like in a brochure. It is good if it starts on the third morning of a harvest, if the man operating it can service it himself, and if the part that eventually wears out can be replaced without waiting a month for it. Those are unglamorous standards. They are also the ones that decide whether a farmer has a good season.

What has changed is what farming here asks of us. When we started, the work was threshing and ploughing. Today our range runs to more than twenty machines, and some of them — the zero-tillage drills, the bed planters — exist because water, diesel and soil have all become things a farmer has to conserve rather than spend freely. We build those machines because our customers asked for them, which is how most of this catalogue came about.

We have stayed in the same city, under the same name, for that entire time. In this trade a reputation takes years to earn and an afternoon to lose, and being close to the people who buy from us has kept us honest about what works. When something we made has failed in the field, we have usually heard about it directly — and the design has been better for it.

If you are considering one of our machines, tell us what you grow, how much land you farm and what tractor you run. We would rather talk you towards the right implement, or tell you plainly that we do not make what you need, than sell you something that will disappoint you. That has been the way we have done business since 1980, and it is not going to change.
