What does a wheat thresher do?
A wheat thresher works by feeding the harvested crop into a rotating drum that beats the heads against a fixed concave. The grain is knocked free, falls through the concave openings onto oscillating sieves, and a fan blows the lighter chaff away while the clean grain is collected. Straw exits the rear, usually into a trailer or a bhoosa-making attachment.
The two settings that matter most are drum speed and concave clearance. Run the drum too fast or the clearance too tight and you crack grain, which downgrades the sample and destroys seed viability. Run it too slow or too open and unthreshed heads leave with the straw. Supreme threshers are built with adjustment on both so the operator can tune for grain moisture, which changes hour by hour through a harvest day.
Because wheat threshing in Pakistan is compressed into a few intense weeks, throughput and reliability matter more than almost anything else.
