What does a gram thresher do?
Pulses are the least forgiving crop to thresh. A split gram seed is worth noticeably less than a whole one and is useless as seed for the next crop, yet the pods must still be broken open decisively. The margin between under-threshing and damaging the sample is narrower than on any cereal.
This machine is built around that constraint, with settings that can be opened up for dry, brittle crops and tightened when pods are tougher. Because pulse crops are often grown on smaller holdings and in the rain-fed barani belt, the machine is sized to be practical for growers who are not running large acreages.
Gram straw also has value as fodder, so the machine is designed to leave it in usable condition rather than pulverising it.
